Mónica Aguilar V. / Saokma
Visual artist, researcher, and therapeutic photographer. She advocates for restoring the integral bond between humans and nature. Mónica holds a degree in Therapeutic Photography and Visual Pedagogy from the University of Barcelona, a specialization in Contemporary Artistic Photography from the Node Center in Berlin, and a diploma in Photographic Design from the Metropolitan Design Institute of Quito. She leads the projects Samayuio, Spirit of the River, and Fotofilia, and is the curator of the collective exhibition Verti/Entes: Quito’s Rivers.

Camola Valarezo
Visual artist and art therapist specializing in weaving with the Navajo system. Since 2010, she has created tapestries using recyclable and natural materials. Camola has led both in-person and virtual workshops and exhibited her work in various countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. She has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Asia, Africa, Europe, the USA, and Ecuador. She collaborates on the Samayuio, Spirit of the River project by training people in creating the River Weave using only recyclable and natural materials.

Marcia Valarezo
Ecologist and ecological tourism guide with holistic training from the International Holistic University – City of Peace Foundation in Brasília, Brazil. She is the author of the books Ecología en la Práctica (Ecology in Practice) and Una Propuesta Ecoturística (An Ecotourism Proposal) and translated Dr. Pierre Weil’s La Nueva Ética (The New Ethics) from Portuguese to Spanish. Marcia worked as a national tourism guide with an ecological focus for over 30 years, serving both national and international travel agencies. In 2012, she edited and published Dr. Vera Khon’s book Suggestions on Initiative Psychology.
Elena Montúfar G.
Educational psychologist and music therapist. Elena holds a degree in Educational Psychology, has studied Music Pedagogy, and earned a Master’s in Music Therapy from the University of La Rioja. For over 15 years, she has supported children with disabilities and special educational needs, providing guidance to their families and caregivers. She conducts individual and group interventions focused on personal development, social and community sensitization, and music therapy, particularly with children.
