The weaving of the “River’s Loom” is an initiative led by art therapist and artisan weaver Camola Valarezo. Its goal is to prevent waste from reaching our rivers through an artistic creation that brings visibility to rivers now disguised as streets or obscured and polluted.
We invite you to join the workshops Camola offers throughout the year as we work towards our collective goal of weaving 2.5 kilometers of fabric—the distance between La Chorrera waterfall and the Machángara River in Quito. This weaving practice not only fosters creativity, patience, focus, and perseverance but also solidifies your commitment to protecting the city’s rivers while reducing your environmental footprint.
Join a community weaving dreams of swimming in clean rivers.
